Infinite Ideas!

Infinite ideas. This is definitely ringing true with many of my local clients. One of these clients asked me to create that perfect holiday gift for a loved one. Since this is an Alpha Design instead of a Numeric Design, she told me what letters she would like to use and gave me free reign to create it.

I created a couple of versions and sent them on to her. We made numerous adjustments and both realized that there are just so many options, hence the Infinite Ideas tag line! At one point, I told her that I had 137 "E's" to choose from and apparently it made her head spin a bit. :)

I think we are sorted out now though, film at 11!

Letter Art

Okay, okay, I know our name is Numeric Design, but I have been creating a ton of LETTER ART lately! Last names make for a great wedding gift, and city and suburb names are a wonderful housewarming gift for someone who has just moved to or from their community. I may have to re-think my name...sigh....

I grew up and live in the Cleveland, Ohio area, so I thought I would show you a sampling of what I have been working on in our local area. I traipsed all over the city to find just the right letters for the CLEVELAND picture that you see above. For you local folks, you may recognize a few of them!

Numeric Design - The Concept

The Numeric Design concept was created while I was living in Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.

I tend to gravitate towards architectural details, and noticed how interesting the house numbers were in many of the European cities. Centuries ago, in Prague, the homes did not even have numbers on the houses, they were identified by wall reliefs that might give a hint of what the homeowner did for a living.

House numbers started to take the place of these beautiful reliefs and, in my mind, they are works of art themselves. The one pictured here is one of the first ones that I took and I now have a over a thousand in my collection.

I launched the Numeric Design website in July 2008 and it has been a genuine learning experience from many aspects. What I love the most about it is that anyone can create a unique work of art utilizing the numbers that are featured.
